InstaDM Boss Documentation

Install the InstaDM Boss Chrome extension to automate your Instagram DM outreach.

1. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store (or load unpacked from apps/extension/dist for development)
2. Click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar
3. Click "Connect Account" to link your InstaDM Boss account

Create your account and set up your organization.

1. Visit /sign-up to create your account
2. Complete the Clerk authentication flow (email or social login)
3. Create or join an organization (required for multi-user teams)
4. Your organization will be automatically provisioned with a Free plan

Add leads to your database via targeting and filtering.

1. Navigate to Get Leads
2. Choose your targeting source (Followers, Likers, or Commenters)
3. Drag and drop your CSV file or click to browse
4. Map columns to fields:
   • handle (required) - Instagram username
   • firstName - First name for personalization
   • username - Display username
   • profileName - Profile display name
   • tags - Comma-separated tags
5. Click "Import" to add leads

Set up an automated message sequence for your leads.

1. Navigate to /dashboard/campaigns
2. Click "New Campaign"
3. Settings Tab:
   • Campaign name
   • Daily cap (max messages per day)
   • Min gap between messages (seconds)
   • Sending window (e.g., 09:00 - 17:00)
   • Stop on reply (auto-pause when lead responds)
4. Steps Tab:
   • Add message steps to your sequence
   • Set delay hours between steps
   • Use tokens: {firstName}, {lastName}, {username}, {profileName}
5. Leads Tab:
   • Select leads to include in campaign
   • Filter by status or tags
6. Click "Publish Campaign" to activate

Activate the extension to begin sending messages.

1. Open Instagram in your browser and log in
2. Click the InstaDM Boss extension icon
3. Verify you're connected (green status indicator)
4. Click "▶️ Start Processing"
5. The extension will automatically:
   • Fetch pending deliveries from your campaigns
   • Send messages with human-like pacing (±25% jitter)
   • Respect daily caps and sending windows
   • Stop automatically when cap is reached

Configure safety settings to avoid detection and respect limits.

1. Click the extension icon → Options
2. Daily Message Cap: Set max messages per day (1-500)
3. Base Gap (seconds): Time between messages (30-300s)
   • ±25% jitter is automatically applied
   • Recommended: 60-120 seconds for safety
4. Dry Run Mode: Test without actually sending
   • Messages are logged but not sent
   • Perfect for testing campaigns
